Juniors are advised to take the PSAT on Saturday, October 16, and to take the SAT test next spring. The PSAT is a shorter, practice version. It also serves as the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship competition, for which only Juniors are eligible.

The first day of school for all high school students is Thursday, September 2nd. The school day begins at 7:45 a.m. for 9th graders and 10 a.m. for 10th, 11th, and 12th graders.

Hey, your teenager may not want to see you at ARHS but the PGO (that's the parent guardian group) would love to have you come to the first day of school on Thursday, September 2nd, from 12noon to 1 p.m., in Room 13.
Register for SAT and ACT Students who plan to take the October 9 SAT or the October 23 ACT should register online as soon as possible. Students on free/reduced lunch can get fee waivers from Guidance after August 25.
The 9th Grade and New Student Welcome Day is structured as a "drop-in" format. Students are invited to come by between 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The visit takes about one hour.
