2013 Noho Pride Parade - Tomorrow

Submitted by Margot on April 27, 2013 - 10:58am.

The 2013 Northampton Pride Parade is tomorrow, Saturday, May 4th. The event involves a parade through Northampton ending at a rally at the 3 County Fairgrounds. The tone of the event is celebratory and family-friendly. Participating is a great way to show support for LGBT members of our community. Last year, for the first time, there was a contingent from ARHS. Administrators, staff and families marched together, showing support and enjoying the festivities. This year we’d like to organize an even larger group and show even greater support. We’d love for you to join us!

Details:
*You do not have to be a member of the LGBT community to march.
*Our contingent will be meeting around 11:00-11:30 in the staging area across from the Northampton Brewery.

THANK YOU AEF!! ARHS Awarded $31,000 in AEF Grants

Submitted by Colleen Osten on April 23, 2013 - 7:42am.

We would like to express our gratitude to the Amherst Education Foundation for awarding two grants to ARHS this year. With this funding ARHS will support academic success for all incoming 9th-graders by implementing a common set of support practices in three areas: reading complex texts, planning and managing workload, and providing effective feedback in a diverse context. Our science classes will also have new technology that will enable students to visualize, measure, and graph photosynthesis in real time. If you are a supporter of AEF, we thank you as well! It is your support of AEF that makes it possible for AEF to make significant contributions to our schools, and thus our students.  You can help AEF and have fun too at the Spring Sprint this year. Register at amhersteducationfoundation.org
