Amherst-area residents have a chance to combat local hunger by sharing dinner with their neighbors at Amherst Survival Center’s Third Annual Empty Bowls Dinner. The event will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday March 14, 2011 at The Pub on 15 E. Pleasant St.
The ARHS Math Department will host IMP Information Night on Tuesday, March 15 from 6:30 -8:00 pm. Parent/guardians and students are invited to come learn about the Interactive Mathematics Program and have some fun solving problems.

10th grader Maia Kinney-Petrucha will have her first graphic novel out and on sale on March 29 from Papercutz Publishing. Called BREAKING DOWN it's a wild satire of the popular book and movie series with glittery vampires galore. Co-scripted with her father, Stefan Petrucha, with art by Rick Parker, for fans sick of glittery vampires and wonky werewolves, it's the hilarious antidote!

The Schools for Africa club raised $2,000 at The Man Pageant, which was a spoof of beauty pageants. Their goal is to raise $20,000, to build a school in Cameroon. After the most recent fundraiser, they have reached $18,500 towards their goal. Congratulations!
