Oklahoma! The musical that modernized musical theater is here at ARHS each night March 14 thru March 16 at 7:30PM and featuring a 2PM matinee on Saturday, March 16th for families with younger kids. Featuring the performances and off-stage work by well over 150 ARHS students, Oklahoma! promises to be a big, fun and beautiful show. Don't miss it! Monte Carlo Night This Weekend!
Don’t miss one of the most fun events of the year! Monte Carlo Night this Saturday, March 16th, at Valentine Hall, Amherst College -- Doors open at 6:30pm. Monte Carlo Night is a fantastic night of fun -- food from the area's best restaurants, live music, a raffle, casino games and fun with friends and community members -- all for the low price of $25. All money raised supports Amherst Regional HS Athletics. Tickets can be purchased from ARHS athletes or at Cushman Market, AJ Hastings, Hampshire Athletic Club, or Jones Group Realtors in Amherst. Power School Portal Available after March 26
The PowerSchool Portal will be closed to parents and students until report cards are issued on March 26. Students who need information about incompletes or missing assignments should contact their teachers or an office secretary.
Meeting for Parents of ELL Students Mar. 20
The ELL teachers at the high school would like to invite all parents of ELL students to a meeting on Wednesday, March 20 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the high school library. Please come to learn more about communication with the high school, course registration, high school graduation requirements, state testing, applying to college, the after-school program, summer school, and more. Get all of your questions answered. Translators will be provided.

Need Assistance filing FAFSA?
The Five College Credit Union is offering free filing assistance to anyone who who needs help with the FAFSA on Thursday, March 19th from 10 - 4. They are located at 200 Westgate Center Drive, in Hadley. This is especially for those applying to community colleges since the deadline for most other colleges has past. May 1, 2013 is the on-time FAFSA priority deadline for Massachusetts Residents.One FAFSA can be sent to up to 10 different colleges for financial aid consideration.
Regional School District for pre-K to 6 is Moving Forward
The twelve member Regional School District Planning Board (RSDPB) of Amherst, Leverett, Pelham and Shutesbury agreed unanimously on Saturday, March 9, 2013 to propose a regional school district for the preK-6 elementary schools in Amherst, Leverett and Pelham. The RSDPB will develop a plan for the three-town preK-6 elementary regional school district during the next three months and then present it to the voters in those three towns in the fall. As participants in the Stop & Shop A+ Rewards, ARHS was automatically entered into a General Mills contest to see which schools earned the most points for General Mills purchases. We were one of the five winning schools, and the grateful recipients of 10 laptops provided by General Mills. The Stop & Shop A+ rewards program keeps on giving! Thank you to everyone who enrolled their cards this year to earn points for ARHS!
Ukulele Jam at the Jones Library - Mar. 17
Back by popular demand, another ukulele jam will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2013. Please join us in the Woodbury Room of the Jones Library from 2 – 4 pm. Joe Blumenthal, from Northampton’s Downtown Sounds, will lead the ukulele jam, along with his ukulele group, AEIOUkes.
All skill levels ages 13 and up are welcome. Bring your instrument and come and strum, learn to play, sing along, or just come and listen. There will be ukuleles to borrow for those who don’t have one yet, but participants are asked to bring a music stand, if possible.
Lifeprint Child Safety Event - Free
The Lifeprint Next Generation Child Safety Event is being held Sat. April 6 from 10 AM to 2PM at Connecticut Valley Oral Surgery, 100 University Dr, Amherst. The program will provide families with safety tools free of charge. Families will receive a CD with their children's palm prints, fingerprints, digital photo and a safety journal. Spring Sports Registration Due TODAY
Online spring sports registration deadline is TODAY. Ensure a smooth start to your spring season by registering online and mailing in your payment to ARHS AD's Office. **You will need the date of your student's last physical exam to register.
Tomorrow - March 9th SAT Checklist
Attention students taking the March 9th SAT: The test begins at 8:00 AM. You must bring a valid picture ID and admission ticket to be admitted to the test. Bring Two number 2 pencils, a soft eraser and an acceptable calculator. Other items which are nice to have include a watch, snacks and a bottle of water. Questions? Go to Guidance or the SAT website.
